Scholarship Award Program
The VPANC Scholarship Award Program was established in 1995 by the Executive Committee of the Association. This program has been funded exclusively by contributions of physician members of the Association and local physicians in the community. Its main goal is to recognize and encourage Vietnamese high school seniors heading to college with superior academic achievements who have also overcome great financial need. The program fosters a sense of community pride and raises awareness so that students can take a more active role in the Vietnamese American community later on in their life. All Vietnamese high school seniors in Northern California who meet the minimum requirements are eligible to apply. Announcements have been provided on our Association website, through media and on bulletin boards of high schools in Northern California. The Scholarship Committee is comprised of eight physicians from the Association. This committee performs the difficult task of selecting the winners from a large pool of exceptional applicants by following a variety of pre-set criteria .
